Who we are
This website is run by [the exact name of the alumni association — to be confirmed] ("the association") for the alumni, teachers and students of JJM Medical College, Davanagere. The association decides why and how your personal data is used, so under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 it is the Data Fiduciary.

What we hold about you
Your email address, which is how you sign in. We send you a six-digit code each time; there is no password.
What you add to your profile: your name, the batches you belong to, your photos (student days, current, and up to four more such as family or workplace), your address, qualifications, affiliations, achievements, family status, department and mentoring preferences. All of it is optional except your name and batch.
What you write on the site: discussion posts and comments, event replies, job listings, and messages sent through the Contact form (with the name, email and phone number you give there).
Batch lists. To help classmates find each other, the association adds each batch’s list from the college’s admission records: name, roll number and, where known, email and a photograph from student days. This includes people who have not joined the site. If that is you, see "Your rights" below.
Technical records: one sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and the server’s own logs. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics services.
Why we use it
To run the alumni network: letting you sign in, showing your profile to the people you choose, helping classmates find each other, and sending you the sign-in codes and notices you ask for. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see what
Anyone on the internet can see the public pages: About, News, Events, Faculty, Contact, and the Jobs board. A job listing shows the email of the member who posted it.
Signed-in members of your batch can see your profile. For each part of your profile you choose whether members of other batches may see it as well, within limits the association sets. Your photos follow the same choice, and are visible to your batch by default.
Batch pages, with names, photos and roll numbers, are visible only to signed-in members.
The association’s administrators can see everything, so that they can approve members, correct lists and deal with problems.
The companies that host the website and send its email handle your data only on the association’s instructions.
Where it is kept, and for how long
On the association’s server, [located in India — to be confirmed], with a nightly backup copy.
Sign-in codes are deleted within a day and expire after ten minutes. You are signed out after a week without a visit. Your profile and what you have written are kept while you remain a member. When you ask for deletion they are removed within [30] days, and backup copies expire within a further [14] days.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or completed, or to have it deleted. You can withdraw your consent at any time, which is as easy as giving it: ask us, and we will delete your account. Most of your profile you can also correct yourself on your Profile page.
If you are on a batch list but have not joined, you can ask for your entry to be corrected or removed through the Contact page.
You may nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, write to [name or role of the privacy contact] at principal@jjmmc.org. We will reply within [30] days. You may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Age
The site is for alumni, teachers and students aged 18 or over.
Changes to this notice
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we will ask for your agreement again when you next sign in. The date of the current version is shown below.
